Ipswich have secured the signing of Burnley defender Dara O'Shea for an initial £12m, with potential add-ons bringing the deal up to £15m.

The Republic of Ireland international has committed to a five-year contract with the Tractor Boys.

O'Shea is the 11th addition to Kieran McKenna’s squad this summer, coming shortly after the signing of Sunderland winger Jack Clarke on Saturday.

He also becomes the second Burnley player to join Ipswich this summer, following goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

"It was impossible to ignore the incredible achievements of the team last season, and the opportunity to join a club with such ambition and momentum was extremely appealing," O'Shea said.

"At this point in my career, it's the perfect moment to make this move."

The 25-year-old, who came through the West Bromwich Albion academy, made over 100 appearances for the Baggies before moving to Burnley for £7m in June 2023 after their promotion to the Premier League.

He scored four goals in 35 appearances for the Clarets, including one in their season-opening victory against Luton earlier this month.

He was absent from the squad in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Sunderland, with manager Scott Parker later confirming that he was set to depart the club.
