Transfer Talk: Real Madrid eye shock move for Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid are making concrete steps to secure a deal for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Christian Falk.

The 25-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2025, and with no decision yet made on an extension, the England international could depart the Reds this summer.

Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, and whilst a deal has not yet materialised, with just one year remaining on his current contract, Madrid could use this to their advantage, with Liverpool reluctant to lose him as a free agent next year.

The chances of a departure could also increase following the end of Jurgen Klopp's reign as manager. The German has been replaced by Arne Slot and it is unclear whether the new boss will have any impact on Alexander-Arnold's chances of staying at the club.

Alexander-Arnold has spent the entirety of his career at Liverpool, winning the Premier LeagueCarabao CupFA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the process and may be interested in a new challenge. The report reveals that he finds a move to the Spanish giants appealing and has been in contact with the club over the last month.
