Transfer Talk: Man Utd to sign Simons ahead of Bayern, Leipzig

Manchester United are lining up a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Xavi Simons, which could make it three Netherlands international signings for the club this summer, says The Sun.

United are closing on a €42.5 million move for striker Joshua Zirkzee, who has already agreed to join from Italian side Bologna, while they are also in talks with Bayern Munich over a €50m transfer for defender Matthijs de Ligt. It is reported that the 24-year-old is intent on a move to United, with Bayern aware of his desire to leave for the Red Devils. However, whilst negotiations between the two clubs are advancing, there has not yet been an agreement.

Simons, 21, has impressed at Euro 2024 and had a fine spell on loan at RB Leipzig last season where he scored 10 goals and got 15 assists from 43 games.

PSG paid €12m to PSV Eindhoven to re-sign him in 2023, before sending him out on loan, and could now look to recoup €70m from a permanent transfer as United, Leipzig and Bayern monitor him.
